Blog App Pages
To enable a Blog page, a layout must be assigned to it. Assigning layouts to each Blog page is easily done within the settings of the Blog app.
The Blog Home page is designed to be flexible enough for you to display whatever you want. Showing featured posts, recent posts, category, post archives, etc. is easily with this page type.
If you sort your posts with categories, this is where category information and items can be displayed in detail. With Branch you have the ability to easily show all posts that are within a category.
The Category List page is a great tool for larger blogs to showcase the categories within the blog. You're able to list categories and subcategories within your blog for easy navigation.
Post Detail pages are dedicated to a single post. You have the ability to display the post title, content, comments, meta data, and more inside the content template.
The Post List page has all of the functionality of the Store Home page, but is meant for use when users begin paginating further into your blog. Most developers typically loop through posts and have a well designed pagination system at the bottom of each page.
If your site needs to have archiving functionality, this is the content template type you'll use. With this page type, you have the option to list by year, month, day, and more.
Displaying posts that have a specific tag is made easy with the Tag Detail content template. You're able to show all the information for a post much like Post List or Category Detail content templates.
If you're looking to list all the tags you've created for your Blog, the Tag List is the content template you'll need.
A Blank content template works great for displaying static information within various Blog layouts. Be creative and use whatever HTML you'd like.
