in Developers
Sometimes when you're working on a new site it can be easier to work on a local site rather then having to FTP files up to a server. If you're on a Mac then here is some basic instructions on how to setup a local website.  To help make it obvious that we're working on a local site we like to use ".dev" as the TLD. In this example we're going to be setting up a local site called…

The first Retina display was introduced by Apple in 2010 with the release of the iPhone 4. in Maintenance & Outages

New Capabilities w/ Branch Code - Variables & Variable Modifiers

in BranchCMS Upgrades
We recently pushed out some new functionality to our Aptuitiv Code code base. Below are some of those changes. 1. Support for debugging variables when using the table row tags. In the past debugging variables when using the {row}{/row} tags was problematic. We fixed it so that debugging the {#column} tag now works as expected. 2. Added the new {ap:request} tags Sometimes it's desired to send data…

Update on the Datacenter Migration

in Maintenance & Outages
I wanted to post an update on the data center migration.  We had two web servers and a database server that we were moving to an entirely new load balanced configuration. A few weeks ago we completely finished one of the web servers and turned that device off. We are more than half way through the last web server. We hope to turn that web server and the database server in the old data center off…

Server Updates, Cache and Search Issues

in Maintenance & Outages
As some of you may know we have been working on server upgrades to help improve performance and stability. This morning we moved to step 2 of 3 and implemented a Network File Server (NFS). The NFS will be used as a shared file server between each of the load balanced web servers (coming soon) so that files between servers can be kept in sync.  Everything went fine right up to the final step…
